His research interests are focused on the development of novel, sustainable and green methodologies with direct application towards the synthesis of compounds of pharmaceutical interest.
The aim of his research activity is:
Finding new active radical intermediates for the construction of C-C, C-O and C-P bonds using light as an energy source.
Development of photochemical protocols for the oxidation of compounds containing sulfur, nitrogen, phosphorus and silicon atom with direct application to the synthesis of compounds of pharmaceutical interest.
Development of dual photo- and metal-catalytic protocols for C-C bond formation.
Use of green solvents in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical compounds.
Application of synthetic methodologies to modern techniques, such as mechanochemistry and flow chemistry, with the ultimate goal of their industrial application.
